Privacy Policy
Slipstream doesn't collect, store or share any of your data. Your files go straight from one of your devices to another, and nothing about you or your files is sent to us or anyone else.
What we collect
Nothing. Slipstream has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It contains no third-party SDKs that collect data.
Your files
When you send files, they travel directly between your devices over a cable and/or a direct wireless link (the same kind of link AirDrop uses). They never pass through the internet, our servers or any cloud service.
Transfers are encrypted end to end by default. Each transfer uses newly generated X25519 keys, and file data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The keys exist only on the two devices for that transfer. No file is sent until you accept it on the receiving device.
Received files are saved on your device: in the Slipstream folder in the Files app on iPhone and iPad, and in Downloads › Slipstream on a Mac. You can delete them at any time.
Finding nearby devices
To find your other devices, Slipstream asks for Local Network access and announces itself on your local network using Bonjour. Other devices running Slipstream nearby can see your device's name and a short device code so you can pick it. This information stays on the local network and is not sent to us.
Stored on your device
Slipstream keeps a few settings on your device, such as whether encryption is on, the last device you sent to and whether you've seen the introduction. These never leave your device and are removed when you delete the app.
Crash reports
If Slipstream crashes, Apple's MetricKit may provide a diagnostic report. Slipstream keeps these reports on your device only and never uploads them. You can choose to share one with us from Settings when reporting a problem; nothing is sent unless you do. If you've turned on sharing with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may also share crash data with us under Apple's own privacy policy.
Children
Slipstream doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
