My devices don't see each other
- Open Slipstream on both devices and keep it on screen.
- Turn on Wi-Fi on both devices. You don't need to be connected to a network.
- Make sure Slipstream has Local Network access. On iPhone and iPad: Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network. On a Mac (macOS 15 and later): System Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.
The cable doesn't show up
- Give it a few seconds after plugging in. The cable connection can take a moment to appear.
- Use a USB-C cable that carries data. Some cables only charge.
- Between two Macs, use a Thunderbolt cable.
Transfers are slower than I expected
- Check that both the cable and wireless are switched on for that device in Slipstream.
- A USB 3 or Thunderbolt cable is much faster than a basic USB-C cable, if both devices support it.
- Keep Slipstream open on both devices until the transfer finishes.
Slipstream says it can't receive files
- Turn Wi-Fi off and on again, then reopen Slipstream.
I can't send a folder
- Folders can't be sent yet. Compress the folder into an archive first, then send the archive.
Where are the files I received?
- On iPhone and iPad: the Files app › Slipstream. On a Mac: Downloads › Slipstream.
